Wisla (pronounced Vee-swah) is a Brisbane-based dance group sharing the vibrant colour and traditions of Polish culture with communities locally and beyond.
About Wisla
Formed in 2010, the Wisla Polish Folkloric Ensemble showcases Polish culture through traditional songs, dances and costumes.
The ensemble was formed by a group of friends sitting by a river sharing their passion for dancing and Polish heritage and its motto ‘dancing our way through Poland’ encompasses this.
Wisla’s repertoire is fun, exciting and energetic and includes Mazur, Lwowskie, Polonez, Oberek, Lowickie and Zywieckie.
Wisla also celebrates the colourful Polish language by incorporating song as well as dance into their performances. The group aims to promote cultural diversity and share the rich and beautiful Polish culture through each performance to communities in Brisbane and beyond.
